If you are considering abdominoplasty…
You will benefit from this surgery if you have one of the following
conditions or any combination of them:
- you are a man or a woman in a relatively good shape, but with excess
skin and fat that bothers you and does not disappear with diet or physical
exercise
- excess fat with or without excess skin
- a protruding abdomen
- absence of a waist
- thin people with excess skin in the abdomen
- variable quantities of "striae" marks with flaccid skin
- women with flaccid muscles after pregnancy
- hernias after surgeries
- surgical scars below the navel that don't look good
- irregular or asymmetrical abdomen.
- other situations.
How is the surgery performed?
- epidural anesthesia with sedation
- There are six different surgical techniques depending on the existing
conditions:
1. only body contouring - for normal muscles, normal
or a slight excess of skin, and fat
2. a small incision above the hair line with muscular
suturing - for normal skin and fat with flaccid muscles
3. a small incision above the hair line, removal
of excess skin, muscular suturing and body contouring - for excess
skin and fat with flaccid muscles
4. longer incision above the hair line, removal of
all excess skin - for a large amount of excess skin and small amount
of fat
5. one single surgery to perform complete body contouring
of the entire abdomen, with complete abdominoplasty with muscular
lackness correction and removal of all excess skin -indicated for
great excess skin, especially above the navel, large quantity of fat
throughout the abdomen and large muscles flacidity.
6. removal of skin below the breasts plus liposuction.
Postoperative Care:
- maximum stay : one day at the Clinic.
- the dressing and the stitches are removed on the seventh day
- the patient may return to normal activities after 3 days to 12 days
depending on the extension of surgery
- although the scars are visible, they are well hidden by a bathing
suit
- physical exercise adds an even greater effect to the new abdominal
outline
What are the possible complications?
- complications are not frequent
- smokers are subject to more complications
- seromas (liquid below skin), bruising and smalls necroses
- if these complications are taken care of in the postoperative period,
they will not affect the final result
Results

- the results are lasting if you regularly follow a balanced diet
and exercise.
