How is this surgery performed?
- the goal is to create a firm and a natural conical-shaped breast
- local or epidural anesthesia is used
- the techniques and incisions vary depending on the case
- the most common is the "anchor incision" following the natural breast contour
- scars are minimal possible for each case
- excess skin is removed and the breast tissue is reshaped
- for small breast volume, implants can be used to enlarge the breast
- the surgery can last from one and a half to two hours
- the patient will be in the hospital or clinic for a few hours, and go home on the same day

How is the postoperative period?
- the patient must wear a dressing and a bra for a few days after surgery
- the stitches are removed 7 days after surgery
- there is no pain; totally painless
- the patient must not lift weight for 30 days
- normal physical exercise 30 days after surgery
- the quality of the scar will depend on the postoperative care
- the scars are permanent, but will get inconspicous with time
- remember that your body makes the scar, and this process takes up to 6 months
- if the patient gets pregnant after surgery, breast-feeding can be normal
- remember: your breasts won't remain the same forever
- your breasts will receive influences of aging, gravity, weight gain and pregnancy

What are the possible complications?
- there is no surgical procedure totally free of risks
- complications are rare: less than 5%
- smokers are more susceptible to having complications
- slight bruising or hematomas (accumulation of blood under the skin)
- small necrosis of skin can occur
- these complications are easy to treat and will not affect the final result
